Second Sunday in Advent 2018 (2 Samuel 7:8-16)

Tim Douglass, December 9, 2018
Part of the Advent 2018 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

After Abraham, God continued to remind His people of His promise. Through all sorts of sin and depravity He held out the constant hope that there would be a savior who would provide the cure for that fundamental ailment of mankind. Along with that promise of a solution to sin, there was now also a promise of a king. That part of the promise expressed God’s plan for eternity when Jesus will rule as the perfect king. In Advent we are not only preparing for the birth of a savior, but also for the birth of the king.
