Third Sunday in Advent 2018 (Micah 5:3-4)

Tim Douglass, December 16, 2018
Part of the Advent 2018 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The promise of the Messiah is one that God holds out before His people for encouragement throughout history, but along with that encouragement there are also a number of warnings that He gives them about their behavior and how they are to prepare themselves for the coming of the Messiah. For those who have ignored God the gift of the Messiah is also a warning of coming judgement. God makes sure that His people hear the message over and over so that no one has an excuse.

Micah 5:3-4

3Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. 4And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. (KJV)
