Galatians 5:13-26 - Part 7 (Galatians 5:13-26)

Tim Douglass, March 31, 2019
Part of the Galatians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

There is an old saying that you never want to ask God for patience because He will give you something to practice it on. My experience would lead me to believe that, but if we want to be serious about it patience - or long-suffering - is the first in this list of the fruit of the spirit that is more about behavior than about attitude. The Holy Spirit not only works on how we thing and feel, but also changes the way that we act. This next group of things - longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control - are all as much or more about what we do as about what we think or feel. So let’s talk about how we can grow in patience.
