The Bread of Life (John 6:30-40)

Tim Douglass, July 7, 2019
Part of the Other series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

I had originally intended to start my new series this Sunday, but on reflection, I decided that I didn’t want to begin a new book series on communion Sunday. Instead we are going to look a bit at what Jesus offers to us in the Lord’s Supper. What was it that the Israelites needed when they got into the desert after leaving Egypt? Bread, of course! They had no real idea of how to survive in the desert, especially as a huge band of people who had just left slavery and hit the road. God provided them with the bread they needed to sustain life, which is what Jesus was offering the people when He was on earth.
