1 Corinthians 5:1-8 (1 Corinthians 5:1-8)

Tim Douglass, October 4, 2020
Part of the 1 Corinthians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Beginning here in Chapter 5 Paul starts to get down to particulars, especially some of the specific moral failings that he has heard about in the church. He has already established his right to speak to them as he is about to – based on his role as their spiritual father – and has also made clear that he is seeking to discipline them out of love for them and a desire to see their relationship with God kept strong and righteous. As we look at these things we need to pay attention to how Paul focuses on the role of the church as a body in dealing with each issue.
