1 Corinthians 8 (1 Corinthians 8:1-13)

Tim Douglass, January 31, 2021
Part of the 1 Corinthians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Paul responds to another question from the Corinthian church, this time regarding whether it is OK to eat meat that has been offered to idols. The details of that particular controversy have been pretty well sorted out over the centuries, and we will take a bit of a look at what was going on, but the more significant issue was how they should choose to exercise their freedoms in Christ. This is one of the more pointed applications of God’s injunction that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves.
