1 Corinthians 14:1-5 (1 Corinthians 14:1-5)

Tim Douglass, September 19, 2021
Part of the 1 Corinthians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The spiritual gift of tongues is one of the more argued about topics in 1 Corinthians. As it has come up over the last several weeks I’ve brushed it aside and said we would talk about it later. Now is that later. Before we talk about Paul’s instructions on the place and use of tongues we really need to begin by understanding what experience we are talking about, what God’s intention for the gift is, and whether it still matters to us in the present day. These are where we are going to start today.
