John 1:19-28 (John 1:19-28)
Tim Douglass, June 30, 2024Part of the Gospel of John series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
At this point we leave the introduction to the Gospel and move into the narrative section, where John is going to present the events of Jesus’ ministry. This is the bulk of the Gospel, running from here in 1:19 to the end of Chapter 12. Sometimes called the “Book of Signs” because it records seven significant signs that Jesus performs, it highlights Jesus working in the world. Having mostly bypassed the birth narrative, John will now go to the start of Jesus’ formal ministry with the testimony of John the Baptist.
