John the Baptist is pretty much done with his testimony for now. He has proclaimed who he isn’t and made it clear that there is someone much greater who is following him. Finally he has testified of Jesus that He is the one and that God has shown that by the Holy Spirit coming on Jesus and staying with Him. John the Baptist is looking forward, promoting the coming baptism that Jesus will bring, a baptism with the Holy Spirit.
