Hebrews 6:1-9 - Part 2 (Hebrews 6:1-9)

Tim Douglass, May 21, 2017
Part of the Letter to the Hebrews series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Last week we discussed how Scripture teaches the doctrine of eternal security – that any person who is genuinely saved will be kept by God until the resurrection and cannot lose their salvation – so that we now have a doctrinal context for the statements in these verses. We also need to bear in mind the author’s major point and what he is attempting to do both with the letter overall and in this particular section. It is often said that the three most important things in understanding Scripture are context, context, and context. There are few places where that is more true than right here.
