The tenth commandment given to the Children of Israel at Mt. Sinai is “You shall not covet”, with a number of specific categories of covetousness given. In a modern society that virtually worships wealth and possessions that’s a commandment that a lot of people would like to forget. As the writer of Hebrews continues with his discussion of how the believers should live he takes us to this rather fundamental instruction and ties it to God’s faithfulness.
