Easter - 2024 (Matthew 28:1-10)

Tim Douglass, March 31, 2024
Part of the Easter 2024 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

That morning started quietly in Jerusalem on the first Easter. The disciples of Jesus of Nazareth had been grieving through the Sabbath, now it was the morning after, and some of the women among them started out early to finish the preparation of the body that they hadn’t been able to complete before burying their friend. For the followers of Jesus this entire week has been a wild ride. From the triumphal entry to the crucifixion they have careened wildly from one emotional extreme to another. Now, feeling that all is finished, they go to do their final service for the one they thought would be their messiah.
