1 Corinthians 7:1-9 (1 Corinthians 7:1-9)

Tim Douglass, November 15, 2020
Part of the 1 Corinthians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This is a very difficult section for us to discuss in a Sunday message. First of all because it deals with the marriage relationship and is rather specific in how the physical side of that relationship should work. Second, because it is discussing that topic within a particular cultural context where the basic viewpoint on marriage and sex wasn’t the same as what we consider normal today. To fully expound this passage would require some discussion that I consider not entirely appropriate for a sermon, so we will be leaving a few things less-discussed that I would like. We are, however, going to try to take a good look at Paul’s fundamental teaching here about marriage and morality.
