The Prophet's Song - First Sunday in Advent (Isaiah 9:1-7)

Tim Douglass, December 3, 2017
Part of the Advent 2017 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Advent is upon us! For the next four Sundays we will be looking forward to the coming of Christ and preparing our hearts to celebrate His birth. This year, each week we are going to consider a different “song” in Scripture that relates to Advent. They aren’t all literally songs, but they do each have that sense to them. This first Sunday we are going to be studying the Prophet’s Song, looking at Isaiah 9. We will be talking about how God gave a message centuries before Jesus was born telling all about His character and His ministry. God wanted His people to anticipate the Messiah and to be prepared for Him when He came.
