Rural Ministry Outreach Sunday (Matthew 10:5-20)

Tim Douglass, September 30, 2018
Part of the Other series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Sunday we are recognizing Rural Ministry Outreach with Village Missions. Seventy year ago Village Missions was founded with the goal of making sure that the Gospel would continue to be preached in the small towns and rural spaces across the U.S. There was, and still is, a very real danger that those places would be abandoned by the organized church and that the Word of God would no longer be heard there. The face of rural America is changing, but the principle of sending people into the small and ignored places to preach the Gospel is one that goes clear back to what Jesus did. He too sent preachers out to go where the good news needed to be heard.
